Rest Easy with Solar

By : Elliot Dacosta / 20 April, 2017 /

After many months of hard work, Solar has now achieved the ISO27001 and ISO20000 accreditations. These awards have set us above many of our competitors, proving that we truly are in control of both our data and yours, as well as receiving recognition for our commitment to service excellence.

That is all well and good, but what are the accreditations and what do they mean for you?

ISO27001 (Information Security).

What?

ISO 27001 sets out the requirements of Information Security Management systems (ISMS). It is part of the ISO 27000 family of standards relating to information and cyber security and offers a comprehensive set of controls based on best practice in information security, and is a framework of policies and procedures that includes all legal, physical and technical controls involved in an organisation's information risk management processes.

Why?

Gaining accreditation to ISO27001 demonstrates Solar’s commitment to comply with regulatory and contractual requirements regarding data security, privacy and IT governance, and the security of sensitive and confidential information. Information Security is the responsibility of everyone who uses Solar Communications information technology resources. It is the responsibility of employees, contractors, business partners, and agents to ensure compliance to the standard and any risks to the ISMS are reported and actioned effectively. It fundamentally shows that Solar takes the safety and security of customer and internal business data seriously and that Information Security is a major consideration during the entire lifecycle of the products and services we offer.

You can rest easy knowing that what’s important to you and your business, your data, is well looked after and protected.

ISO20000 (Service Management).

 What?

ISO 20000 is a global standard that describes the requirements for an information technology service management (ITSM) system. The standard was developed to mirror the best practices described within the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework

Why?

Gaining ISO 20000 accreditation proves that Solar is committed to the delivering the highest standards of service throughout the entire lifecycle of the products and services it offers. It’s one thing to believe you provide a good service, it’s another to be able to prove it, and have the systems in place to ensure that products and services are delivered and supported effectively and that continual service improvement is at the core of everything we do. Accreditation to ISO20000 puts Solar ahead of the pack from an ITIL framework Service Management perspective, as many of our competitors do not hold accreditation to this standard.

Solar is going the extra mile to prove what you knew all along - that we take data seriously and we will continue to stay ahead of the game to keep you protected whilst maintaining service excellence at every stage.
