2018 is our year. We have no doubt about it.
Our number one priority is always the customer. This is the reason why we invest a lot of time and effort into 3 areas; our product set, our ability to deliver our service and our people.
We work with a range of suppliers in order to ensure we can provide the absolute best solutions for our customers, no matter what industry or size they are. For example, we are the only ShoreTel platinum partner outside of the USA, as well as a Mitel gold partner, which following the acquisition of the former by the latter, puts us in such a strong position to deliver our customers the best quality products and solutions possible, from what is now the 2nd largest provider of Cloud UCaaS services in the world.
When our customers need a solution that our partners cannot provide, we are lucky enough to have a talented team who are given license to innovate and bring new services to market such as our Solar Seamless Connect UC solution which provides a risk-free approach to cloud migration.
Not only do we have the right product set, we also have a proven track record of delivering it to the highest possible standard. But don’t just take our word for it, we have been recognised for our commitment to service quality in the form of four ISO accreditations as well as our newly acquired Microsoft Silver Partner status which puts us in fantastic stead to not only serve our customers in the most effective way possible but help them on their journey to the cloud.
With the right products/solutions, as well as the right standards and procedures in place, our final investment comes in the shape of the investment we make in our people. At Solar we take great pride in the motivation and commitment shown by our team every day which is why we aim to provide a positive, fun and energetic working environment. For example, our monthly socials or "Pay Day Yay Day's" as well like to call them, but alongside this we also have an annual kick-off event, which this year was in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
This year’s event saw our four offices; Manchester, Chippenham, Harlow and newest addition, Cardiff, descend on Shakespeare’s hometown for two days of all things Solar. The focus on day one was one of reflection which began with a look back on our successes from 2017 in terms of milestones and financial performance – which was rather good if we do say so ourselves!
This was then followed with inward reflection as the afternoon was led by the guys at Team Spirit taking us through an intense 2 hours of team building activities which tested our mental agility, our creativity and of course our ability to work as a team. The theme of reflection was rounded off by Mike Bowen, from Shake The Trees who spent the remainder of the afternoon helping everyone explore success and what it means personally and for the company, whilst also giving the team the opportunity to highlight any flaws in processes or lack of understanding in an open forum.
After an insightful and challenging day, we were greeted with a three-course meal, an awards ceremony hosted by Sales and Marketing Director Will Kennedy (pictured below with CEO John Whitty) and some fun in the form of karaoke and some well-deserved drinks.
Day two saw the company gather bright and early (a few sore heads no doubt, after a great night of fun) to discuss our next theme for the update, the future. John Whitty took the team through our goals for 2018 and the methods we need to undertake in order to achieve them- the resounding feeling in the room was one of excitement.
These two days away also marked the first time we were able to bring the entire company with us to the event, which is a fantastic achievement- more to follow on this in the coming weeks.
Bringing the whole company together, something that doesn’t happen as much as we would like (but natural with our nationwide coverage) has given everyone the confidence that this year promises to be the most exciting one on what is our 30th anniversary.
2018 is our year, We Are Solar.
