The ISO Train Rolls On…

By : Elliot Dacosta / 19 July, 2017 /

The hard work continues and we are incredibly proud to announce that we have now gained the ISO 9001:2015 and 14001 accreditations, another couple to add to our growing collection!

These 2 new awards sit alongside the ISO 27001 which demonstrates Solar’s commitment to comply with regulatory and contractual requirements regarding data security, privacy and IT governance, and the security of sensitive and confidential information as well as the ISO 20000 which is a global standard that describes the requirements for an information technology service management (ITSM) system which we achieved back in April.

But what do these new awards mean?

SOLAR GAINS ISO 9001:2015 ACCREDITATION

ISO9001 is the central core of Solar’s IMS (Integrated Management System) that ties together, all of our 4 accreditations (Quality, Environmental, Information Security and Service Management). The Solar group of companies had already held 9001 accreditation to the 9001:2008 standard for a number of years. We have recently however, completely remodelled our system into an IMS and updated the accreditation to the 9001:2015 standard. This demonstrates Solar’s continued commitment to providing a quality service throughout the entire lifecycle of the products and services it sells.
This means that when you deal with Solar you can expect top quality service throughout your time, and whilst other companies claim this, we have the national recognised accreditation to prove it.

SOLAR GAINS 14001 ACCREDITATION

Solar Communications Ltd takes its responsibility for its environmental impact extremely seriously. We believe it is our collective duty to respect the environment we live in and minimise our businesses effect on our surroundings. Solar are extremely pleased to have now formalised, and demonstrated its commitment to the environment by gaining ISO14001. Our Accreditation is underpinned with the following 5 core principles.

  1. Reduce Pollution
  2. Conserve Resources
  3. Conserve Energy
  4. Reduce Consumption & Waste (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)
  5. Protect the Earth’s Ecological Balance

This accreditation is something that should be mandatory across all businesses as cutting emissions is a joint effort, but we are glad to be recognised for doing our bit.

We are incredibly proud to now possess 4 ISO accreditations across several areas of the business which shows are ongoing commitment to delivering the highest quality service possible.

Here at Solar we are guided by our core principles of “Go Beyond The Call”, “Lead the Way”, “Take Personal Responsibility” and “Do The Right Thing” and gaining these awards are just testament to this mantra as we grow as a business.
